Featured Cake- Cars

What do little boys of 2-3 years old like?
I'd say the answer is cars.

Who doesn't remember a childhood time, of play with little car miniatures? Moving the cars around the floor and up to the sofa, by the edges of the beds, all over......and the adventures you went on.

I recently had the pleasure of creating two cute little cars for a very special little one's birthday cake. I am very pleased by the way they turned out.

If you have a special little one that would love a special cake topper, just visit my etsy online boutique. Lynn's Little Creations or email me at lynnslittlecreations@hotmail.com
I would love to create something special for you too.

Featured Cake- Zombie Wedding Cake

I don't know if this a sign, of the fear of taking the next big step or not...lol
But I don't think so...maybe just a groom overwhelmed with all the frills and
formal wedding stuff.
At any rate this was defiantly a change for me...and I have to admit it was
a bit of fun!
Apparently the cake was a hit and the reception, even though the real cake
fell over in the back of the truck....
If you are interested in having a cake topper created that is a bit different

Edible Wedding Favors Are Still a Hit

Wedding favors are among the things that guests look forward to bring home at the end of the wedding. They are little gifts that serve as token of appreciation that will be given to all the guests who attended a nuptial. They come in various types, including edible favors which are meant to delight the wedding guests. Edible wedding favors can be in the form of chocolates, candies, almonds, mints, jams, cookies and other tasty treats.

Jordan almonds are probably the most popular edible favors given during weddings. They are often grouped together, wrapped in tulle and and closed using ribbons. Each finished almond package will be placed on each table setting. Up to now, Jordan almonds are still a wonderful favor option for a wedding that desires to keep the traditions alive.

When searching for edible wedding favors, the options are plenty. Some couples may even have some troubles selecting what edible treats would be best for them. Actually, choosing what is right doesn't need to be head-spinning. All the couple will need is to find something that reflects what common between them. For example, if they usually go out for a coffee, then they could possibly come out with wedding coffee favors. Coffee favors usually come in packs, which are customized with printed names or monograms of a couple, together with the wedding date and a personal message. Aside from coffee, couples may also opt for tea, hot cocoa, cappuccino, and cocktail mixes as well. These consumable wedding favors are available in beautiful packages, with different designs to complement any type of wedding.

Edible wedding favors can sometimes become a money-saving option, especially for couples who have tight budget. Couples can save money on edible favors by simply doing the souvenirs themselves. Making homemade wedding souvenirs are actually pretty easy, especially brides and grooms who are good at baking cookies or making jams. They can even make their own wine favors, or re-make chocolates or re-pack candies.

A couple can be very creative and inventive when it comes to their edible wedding favors. For example, they may give out strawberries covered with chocolates, cookies with creative icing topping, or fortune cookies. Cookie favors can be shaped using cookie cutters. Most cookie favors come in shapes to resemble a real wedding cake or bride and groom.

Edible wedding favors can make unique wedding favors. Choices may include personalized chocolate bars wrapped in custom-made wrappers, personalized jams with custom-labels, cupcakes in personalized favor boxes and many more. Unique favor ideas can further be personalized with printed names or monograms, wedding date, and a heart-felt message from the couple. Personalizing the items can either be for free or for a minimal charge. The Internet is a huge source of information when it comes to planning a wedding. Making an Entrance - Unique Wedding Transport

Arriving at your wedding or event needs to make a statement. This is the after all the first impression that your guests are going to have of you and the theme of your event. A limousine, vintage car, or horse drawn carriage are some of the more traditional ways of arriving at your wedding. But to truly arrive at your wedding in style and to make a unique entrance, you may want to consider some more unconventional wedding transportation.

For a truly unique entrance arrive to your wedding ceremony in a hot air balloon. This style of transportation would be most effective during an outdoor wedding ceremony. Imagine your wedding ceremony taking place in the country or in a vineyard and your bridal party arriving in magnificent hot air balloon. Not only would it be a fantastic experience to have with your future husband but also you guests will be blown away. The timing and time of year would need to be taken into consideration with this type of wedding transportation. You should also have a backup plan as there may be weather conditions that would prevent the hot air balloon from taking flight. If all goes to plan a hot air balloon for your wedding transport will be the talk of your guests and would be remembered for some time. It would also give rise to some beautiful wedding photographs.

For a more cosmopolitan and modern entrance arrive to your wedding on the back of the back of a Harley Davidson or Motor bike. This entrance is certain to create quite a stir. The revs of the engines will let everyone know you have arrived. In choosing this type of wedding transportation you would have to consider the type of wedding dress you will be wearing and also your hair style needs. If you choose to have a less formal dress and hair then the Harley Davidson is perfect for your modern wedding.

A Gondola is extremely romantic and is perfect as wedding transportation for a wedding ceremony or reception by a lake or river. Not only would it be a serene and beautiful entrance and give rise to spectacular photographs, your guests will truly be impressed. Leaving your ceremony or reception on the Gondola is symbolic of your life long journey together on the river of life and love.

A Jet Ski entrance is suitable for an informal beach wedding where the bride and bridal party are dressed in shorter beach attire. Although the jet ski seems less practical as an entrance or form of wedding transport, picture a warm summers day where the guests are waiting in anticipation and in the distance on the ocean your see a bride and groom and the bridal party arriving on the back of jet skis. Imagine the excitement that this entrance would create as well as an expectation of a fun and relaxed wedding.

For an exotic entrance arrive to your wedding on the back of an elephant. Making an entrance on the back of an elephant would suit a wedding ceremony held at the zoo or in a botanical garden or even a rainforest wedding. You could either ride the elephant bare backed or sit inside a tent on the back of the elephant.

Whichever choice you make will certainly create an air of mystery, romance and fantasy for your wedding.
So whether it is by air, water, land or sea make the most unique entrance by choosing wedding transport that makes the ultimate impression. Arriving on a gondola, elephant, Jet Ski, Harley Davidson or hot air balloon is sure to entertain and leave your guests with an air of excitement and fantasy.

Unique Wedding Anniversary Gift Ideas to Make Your Wife's Day

Wedding Anniversaries - A Special Day For every Wife

Wedding anniversaries are special, as they bring back sweet memories of the happiest day of couples' lives. Each year couples begin to feel the same excitement and joy that they experienced all those years ago on their wedding day. Reliving that experience on one's wedding anniversary can be done either by taking a private romantic holiday shared by just husband and wife, or by making it a family occasion and hosting a party for friends and family. Both require meticulous and detailed planning, and it is one time when no one wants to see things go wrong. A big party becomes a great celebration and the wife feels the same fervor and wants to do things in quite the same way as her wedding day, except for the fact that she is not the blushing bride at this time, but the gracious hostess. Parties are a great way of socializing and extending friendships.

Wedding Anniversary parties require a lot of preparation and planning. While most of the finer details of the party have to be kept for the days closest to the big day, there are many things that can be finished weeks in advance and kept aside so that there is time to spare for more pressing matters and details. The dress for the wife is something that is important but can be selected well in advance. Going about buying a dress for one's wedding anniversary is not as simple as it seems. One needs to be clear in one's mind about what one wants before setting out. The design the cut and style would help in deciding whether to go to a shopping mall or a specialist store or a designer outlet to buy the dress.

Many women prefer wearing a traditional long dress in silk, complete with a veil or similar headgear for the party. Others look for more practical options buying a trendy dress suit made out of blended fabric but fits perfectly. Such outfits can be worn for other occasions and are therefore good value for money. Many factors have to be borne in mind before setting out on a dress buying expedition:

* The design, style and cut of the dress;
* Should it be traditional or contemporary;
* The budget kept aside for it;
* To buy from a large mall or an exclusive outlet;
* The color and fabric of the outfit;
* Whether to buy one of the machine mass produced dresses or an exclusive one of a kind dress;
* Can it picked up off the rack or does the shop give the facility of alterations and modifications;
* Does the shop offer matching accessories within the budget;
* Practical aspects like long term maintenance of the dress;

The most important factor is that the spouse should like to see his wife in that outfit. It is not a bad idea to discuss with the husband what kind of dress he considers appropriate. If he can spare the time he can even help in finally selecting one out of two or three short-listed ones. This takes away the anxiety linked to doubts whether or not he would approve of the dress purchased. To be on the safe side, it is always preferable to find out the rule for exchanging a dress, and refund policies of the store, before the dress is sent for alteration.

Wedding anniversaries are also a time for men to pamper their wives and make them feel special. A perfect dress chosen for her for the special day would really prove to be a delight for her, much more than what she selects and buys herself.

5 Unique Wedding Guest Book Ideas For a Unique Wedding

Why is a guest book so important for weddings? Why is it important for the wedding couple?

Guest books are important for the couple because it is the record of the guests and their wonderful comments for the bride and groom. It is considered a treasured memento of the couple's wedding that they can go back to year after year as they celebrate their anniversary. Many couples do this reminiscing thing while celebrating their wedding anniversaries to bring back the memories of the celebration- a get-together of families and friends who have given their thoughts and blessings to the couple for a new-found life together.

If you are planning for your wedding, it is an important task to look for unique wedding guest books that you can choose from to make your wedding celebration unique and complete. This task should be personal and you are obliged to pick yours according to your preferences as a couple and as a complement to your wedding.

1. Themed Wedding Guest book

Themed weddings usually call for tie-ups of other elements such as invitations, attire and many others. If you don't have a particular theme for your wedding, the usual thing to do is to tie your wedding guest book to the color scheme or motif.

A classic and elegant wedding calls for an elegantly designed one with either white or ecru pages, and a motif hardbound cover. You may also want to personalize your guestbook by ordering it from an online stationery store or wedding accessories shop. Finding these personalized guestbooks are easy as the click of your mouse.

2. Photo Wedding Guest Book

There are two types of photo wedding guestbook that you can use during your wedding. The traditional way of taking Polaroid photos during your wedding is one way to have instant photos of family, friends and guests. Take some snapshots of you and your partner with each of your guests [an individual or group or family]. However, in this day and age, the digital camera is a handier piece of gadget that most people are fond of using. However, printing the photo could only be done after the wedding if this is the case; so make sure that your guests sign on specific pages especially for them.

The other type of photo wedding guest book is where the book itself has photos of you and your partner. Normally, photography studios offer this service as an inclusion to their normal photography services. This is apart from the wedding album itself, but this guest book contains photos of the wedding couple during the pre-nuptial photo shoot. The guest book is usually a magazine-type and hardbound, and each page has photos of the couple which appear to be part of the design. This is passed on to the guests during the wedding reception where they can write their well-wishes and congratulatory notes.

3. Wedding Guest Book Plate/Platter

A ceramic plate or platter is a fun and very unique way of having your guests sign and wish you on your wedding day. A large plate/platter is better for weddings of more than 50 guests and you can keep this as a home decor [usually a focal point of a particular room]. Don't forget to provide a fine-point marker to your guests to ensure that their messages will stay permanently on the ceramic surface. You can order these guest book plates/platters online and some stores may also include special markers as well.

4. Monogrammed Wedding Guest Book

This is another personalization method that you can apply to your wedding guest book. You can order a custom-made wedding guest book which bears the monogrammed initials of the bride and groom. This is a simple addition to your personalized or themed wedding guest book that doesn't cost too much but adds a unique touch to it all in all.

5. Quilted Wedding Guest Book

Quilts by tradition are a great way to involve family and friends to create an entire piece [i.e. blanket or tapestry as the most common] out of patches of fabric that are sewn together. Taking this tradition to create a wedding guest book is a unique and interesting way of involving your family, friends and guests to piece together their wishes and good lucks.

Provide your fabrics of choice to each of your guests and make sure to provide also some fabric markers. You can ask you groomsmen and bridesmaids to hand out the fabric pieces and markers to your guests. You can also task them to collect the completed pieces and keep them in a box so you can take all of their wishes with you after the reception. The task of sewing the fabrics together can be done by you and your partner or you can ask family members to help out. You can frame the quilt once it's sewn and display it on the wall of your home.

These are just a few of the many ideas that you can apply when you are planning for a unique and interesting wedding guest book. Use your imagination and picture how you would like your wedding guest book will look like. If you are stuck with ideas, you can browse the internet for more info, samples and ideas from wedded couples as well.

A Unique Wedding Favor Or Gift For the Bride and Groom

Wedding favors are a big business today. I was recently watching an episode of Platinum Weddings on TV and saw that the bride had spent over $38.000 dollars on just the decorations and favors for her reception. I was aghast at such an expense! But then I thought to myself, it is her day, and she should be able to spend what she wants if she can afford it.

We have all been to weddings and gotten the common favors: the candied almonds, the candles, the picture frames. And while they were all very nice, brides today have the chance to use a wedding favor as a way to say something about themselves as a couple with a novel wedding favor that may always remind their guests of them as a couple.

Wedding favors have always been a nice, personal gesture to include in your wedding preparations. Unfortunately, there are too many "cookie-cutter" type favors out there, which portray the couple's lack of interest in providing something unique.

A lot of brides out there today are looking for the perfect favor to give to their guests to help them remember the day. I have found hundreds of websites with ideas and instructions on making the perfect wedding favors, but they all use the same things, candies, candles, picture frames, wine glasses, etc. Why not go for the truly unique?

How about a wooden folding plaque, with a picture of your wedding invitation laser etched on the outside, and the written text lasered on the inside along with a place to add a wedding picture? I recently had some made up for a friend as a wedding gift, and she loved them. She also wished that she could have had some made up as wedding favors for her guests!

If you are interested in this kind of favor for you wedding, please click on the link below. Go to Invitation Plaque for more information.

Unique Wedding Centerpieces - Ideas For You to Consider

If you want something a little bit different for your wedding table centerpieces than the traditional flowers in a vase, you need to hunt around for inspiration. Unique wedding centerpieces are hard to find in shops so be prepared to come up with and create these displays on your own. If you are up for the challenge, you will be rewarded for your hard work on your big day, when the reception tables look stunning and your guests comment on your creativity.

Online is a good place to come up with some off the wall ideas for your centerpieces if you are not naturally creative on your won. There are many wedding websites stuffed full of images of what other brides have done before you. Jot down what you like, including the materials and colors that are used, and then try to combine all of these points into a design of your own.

Wedding themes are often based on the season when you are getting married and these themes flow through everything in the day including the centerpieces. Christmas centerpieces would be easy to come up with - just think of all the Christmas food or decorations, combine them with sparkly white and silver colors and you're done.

Fall weddings offer an abundance of natural materials to inspire your display. Leaves of great orange and brown colors can be scattered around any number of fall fruit and vegetables or romantic candles. Imagine pumpkins used as flower vases or stacks of green and red apples arranged in pyramid shapes on white platters.

Spring weddings call for bright and fresh flowers. Sliced citrus fruits in vases of water or an arrangement of Easter eggs would also tie in with this season. Summer weddings also allow the use of bright colors or even vacation accessories. You could turn it into a beach theme with shells, leis or bucket and spade type pails.

If you want something even more unique than season based wedding centerpieces, think to your hobbies or pastimes as a couple. If you travel a lot, use mini suitcases, cameras or a photo collage of your travels. If you are into sports, pile up tennis balls on a silver platter and dot them with small flower heads. If you love coffee, pile coffee beans into vases and stand long stemmed, large headed flowers amongst them.

The theme that you choose is crucial to your wedding centerpieces and other decorations, so put some thought into it early on. It will make the rest of your wedding planning that much easier.

Unique Wedding Ideas That Say Something About You

They say everything under the sun has already been done, but that does not mean you cannot come up with some unique wedding ideas. In an absolute worst case scenario you can just watch a few episodes of any of the "plan-my-wedding" type shows popping up on cable stations everywhere and downright "steal"'an idea. Isn't that kind of the point of the TV show anyway? "Hey, look what we did. You can do this, too! (Just remember we did it first.)"

Generally people start of with a theme of some sort. Try to pick something that both people are happy with. He may not be that into a pink and bubbly Barbie-style do. And though a monster truck race around the mud-pit "reception hall" will be memorable, they might not be the kind of memories she was thinking she would be making on her wedding day. The internet is a wonderful resource. Try some prom and event websites to get some ideas flowing.

Nowadays, invitations can be professionally created or printed right on your own computer. But why not try something a little bit different. My favorite wedding invitation came in a large brown inter-office type envelope. Inside was a homemade coloring book and a box of crayons. The book was a personal adaptation of the children's book "Let's Marry, Said the Cherry" by N. M. Bodecker, where the bride and groom and their friends and family had become the characters in the book. (In this case, various fruits and vegetables that were turned into caricature of the guests.)

If your having trouble coming up with wedding favor ideas, pause and take a creative breath. Though this is a wedding your planning for yourself, think of it from the perspective of the guest. What would you appreciate receiving? Another sachet of pastel-colored Jordan almonds? Try something personal and, if not functional, than at least whimsical. You guest will leave with a fun and interesting keepsake to remind them of the special day you shared with them.

Music is a fun way to share wedding memories with your guest. There are always some special songs that you specifically want played at the reception. Why not give each guest a "Wedding Mix" CD printed with a picture of you and your betrothed on the label? Or, how about having an hour or two of karaoke where at the end of each song the performer is presented with a copy of their spectacular (read: drunken) rendition of Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me."

There are a million options and opportunities for creative uniqueness when thinking about the wedding cake. Here you can return again to the TV for some assistance. Cake shows are high on the reality TV listings and you will definitely get some great ideas. Cupcakes, layer cakes, bridges, platforms, volcanoes, airplanes, extravagant Seussian towers - you name it, they have made it!

Every wedding is already unique because of the two people getting married. Two different sets of families and friends are coming together to create a special single community - at least for a day. But, you hold the key to what memories your guest will take home with them. So, what would you like them to be?

Whether an invitation, a souvenir, or the cake, adding a touch of the fun and personal will give any unique wedding ideas just the touch your looking for.

Now you got some ideas on how to plan a unique wedding that say something about you, you may also want to include personalized wedding favors for the guests. Visit Favors-n-Gifts.com now and find the best deal on inexpensive wedding favors.

The practice of giving and wearing a weddng ring dates back thousands of years. A wedding ring represents fidelity and love between two people and are given on the day of a couple joining forces. Before the time that the skill of how to work metal became widely known, people used such things as plants, grass and even hair to 'tie the knot', which is what I think a ring stands for.

These days a typical marital ring might be made from valuable metals such as gold, titanium, platinum or even white gold. Women's marriage rings often hold a diamond, although sapphires are rapidly becoming more prevalent. Men's wedding rings are often just a plain band of gold. There are many distinctive styles of rings, but the most popular for men is definitely the plain gold band.

For those who want something a bit more flamboyant, there are plenty of examples on the market. A man might want a more ostentatious marital ring, because it is often the only piece of jewellery that a man wears. Some alternatives to the plain band of gold are the Celtic Knot and the Claddagh gold rings.

It is essential for men's rings to be made from a robust alloy of gold. Most men do physical labour of one sort or another, even if it is only gardening, so it is a lot to ask of a pure gold ring to last thirty or forty years.

A 14 or 18 carat gold ring will probably manage it, but a 22 carat ring would not. It would just wear away because it is too pure and consequently too soft. Platinum or titanium are much harder, although most people have a preference for gold.

In most countries tradition dictates that people wear their wedding ring on their left hand, although in a couple of countries such as Germany, Russia and Norway, people wear their wedding ring on the right hand.

Some couples would rather have unique wedding rings and that is not so difficult to achieve as it might first appear to be. The easiest way to personalize your ring is to have an inscription like names and a date engraved on it.

Another way, would be to buy a precious stone separately and have the jeweller set it into the ring for you. The best option though is to find a jeweller you can trust and have him or her make up a pair of identical rings to your own design. I have done that and it is not a lot more expensive than a good ring.

Wearing matching wedding rings is a remarkable experience. People see that your ring is 'something different' and many people ask, where you got them from. It all goes to help make that special day memorable for ever.

Unique Wedding Gift Ideas

Need unique wedding gift ideas? Are you tired of sticking to a wedding registry? Or, is your good friend getting married and you were hoping to give a gift that was more special and unique? Check out these unique wedding gift ideas!

If they're newly engaged -

Wedding movies are a great gift, particularly for someone who is newly engaged and just about to start the arduous process of planning a wedding. Most of these films are lighthearted and fun romantic comedies that will help the bride-to-be remember to relax and enjoy the wedding process, instead of becoming a bridezilla!

Wedding books that help plan the wedding are extremely helpful for the newly engaged, as well. They give the bride-to-be ideas and helpful suggestions to help her plan. In addition to these books, though, if your bride is a bit of a bookworm, what about a book about a bride-to-be: there are romantic comedies, short stories, murder mysteries, and classics to choose from - the possibilities are endless!

For the Wedding or Shower -

Make a fairytale storybook of the bride and groom's journey as a couple... to their own fairytale ending. This is for the creative and artistic types and could be combined with a photo scrapbook and/or artistic drawings. Be creative!

If creativity is not your strong suit, how about treating the couple to a spa day (or weekend!) to relax together. They'll need it after all the wedding planning! It's the ultimate treat!

Another fun gift is to have the couple star in their own romance novel. There are a few websites dedicated to doing this if you scour the internet. For a fee, they will write your bride and groom into their own hot and steamy novel!

Have an artist paint a picture of the happy couple! You can have the couple sit for their portrait or have an artist paint one from a picture.

Want to give the couple something more practical? What about giving the gift of frequent flier miles? It might help the couple with their honeymoon plans or allow them to take a trip later on!

Just remember, the best unique wedding gift ideas come from the heart!

How to Conceptualize a Unique Apostolic Wedding

The Apostolic wedding is either characterized as an Apostolic Christian Church or an Apostolic Catholic Church. Each of these types portrays individual wedding policies that need to be followed, although some of them can be altered.

Apostolic weddings are personalized by deciding for a particular location wherein both the groom and the brides finds a pleasure of celebrating their wedding there. It is a given fact that the Apostolic church is a conventional location, however, some couples enjoy a different setting by considering some other option such as a wonderful public garden, a relative's house, or some other venues that are special to them. You don't have to worry if you want to pursue a non-church wedding. The Catholic church would allow it, but first is you will have to talk with the minister of the priest prior to any wedding arrangements. Hear on what they would have to say, eventually they will give the permission.

Apostolic ceremonies can also be made personalized. Similar to any other kinds of wedding ceremonies, there are various wedding ideas for the so called Apostolic ceremony. As you talk with the minister or the priest, he may be giving you series of recommendations on how the ceremony is done in the holy church. It is your prerogative to either completely adapts the recommendation or request for some minor changes so the wedding ceremony will appear distinctive. If you have the means, show off some pictures of you and your partner through slide show. You may also include your pictures along with your family. Execute the slide show prior to the wedding ceremony.

Apostolic weddings are lively and joyful. You must preserve this virtue. You may ask any of the family members to secure music for the wedding ceremony. If there is none from the family who has the potential for music selection, you may consider asking your friend or anyone from the Apostolic church member to do it instead. Explore your wedding music.

Bear in mind too that the Apostolic church might not allow you to wear the traditional wedding ring. Yes, they don't welcome any wearing of jewelries. In the event that the church gives you the permission to wear a ring, choose a simple band and have it engraved with a heartfelt message. You still managed to make the ring special even without having the alter its physical appearance.

The making of a unique and beautiful Apostolic wedding, all lies on your capability to consider the most essential factors.

Having organised and managed many weddings the author decided to set up their own business selling cheap wedding favours and wedding favours boxes they now specialise in this line of products.

Unique Wedding Trends in 2010

This year, most traditional rules are being broken and various unique ideas are being incorporated in the most wonderful life-changing event between two people: the wedding.

At present, weddings have fewer guests, comprising mainly of family and close friends. Due to the state of the economy, most couples have to be selective with the people they invite. On the other hand, with a smaller number of people, the ceremony has become more pleasantly intimate.

For venues, a wedding at home is not only a great idea when the budget is tight. It feels more personal and puts guests at ease. For other couples without budget constraints, they can exchange their 'I do's' in lovely garden settings, white-sand beaches, even underwater. A recent trend has seen people in Europe exchange vows in sub-zero temperatures at Ice Bars. With the enchantingly frosty atmosphere, the couple is apt to keep love's fire burning. Other unique venues include flying in remodeled Boeing airplanes and atop tall skyscrapers for those who want a heavenly experience.

What bride would be without a bouquet? Nowadays, a lot of brides are going for the picked-it-myself look. Although roses will never go out of style, there is a higher demand for exotic tropical flowers arranged in a loose, thrown together cascade. Other non-floral elements are also being incorporated like crystals, pearls and feathers.

And speaking of feathers, ever since Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw got married with a bird on her head, there has been a growing frenzy over peacock feathers. The lush hues of cobalt blue, emerald green give any wedding an elegant and stylish flair. Peacock theme details have also graced tabletop decorations, floral arrangements, and wedding attire. This leads us to the wedding dress -

The past years show a proclivity for strapless gowns, and the trends show that it will continue this year. The hemline, however, remains diverse. Brides can choose floor length billowing skirts, mermaid styles; or short and sweet with tea-length and above the knee. There is also an emerging demand for color. Pure virginal white is a bit archaic and so unforgiving when it comes to skin tone. Shades of ivory compliment many complexions better and does not stray too far from tradition. Touches of color added here and there, like a ribbon sash around the waist or a layer that peeks under the skirt offers a more adventurous approach. Or brides can go all out and walk down the aisle in a bold colored dress. Blue seems the favored color of the moment, followed by valentine red.

Contemporary weddings have also revamped the procession. Instead of a singular central aisle, the bride and groom enter and walk separate paths that converge at the altar. It also strategically seats the two sides together so there is only one family.

With so much of the wedding conventions being altered, it is something of a relief to see that wedding rings are still part of the ceremony. However, couples want their rings - symbols of commitment and eternal love - with new twists. They can choose from a wide array of metals and designs - filigreed, multi-banded, set with clusters of gems or pearls, or engraved with unusual markings. Popular as of the moment are binary code and fingerprints.

Also gaining in popularity are wedding ring tattoos. Actually a centuries old custom, tattoos are an exceptional way to represent a couples' loyalty and devotion, not to mention very stylish. Consider Eva Longoria who had the date of her marriage to Tony Parker tattooed on the inside of her wrist.

And there you have it. Unique and great ideas to make your wedding extraordinary.
