A Unique Wedding Favor Or Gift For the Bride and Groom

Wedding favors are a big business today. I was recently watching an episode of Platinum Weddings on TV and saw that the bride had spent over $38.000 dollars on just the decorations and favors for her reception. I was aghast at such an expense! But then I thought to myself, it is her day, and she should be able to spend what she wants if she can afford it.

We have all been to weddings and gotten the common favors: the candied almonds, the candles, the picture frames. And while they were all very nice, brides today have the chance to use a wedding favor as a way to say something about themselves as a couple with a novel wedding favor that may always remind their guests of them as a couple.

Wedding favors have always been a nice, personal gesture to include in your wedding preparations. Unfortunately, there are too many "cookie-cutter" type favors out there, which portray the couple's lack of interest in providing something unique.

A lot of brides out there today are looking for the perfect favor to give to their guests to help them remember the day. I have found hundreds of websites with ideas and instructions on making the perfect wedding favors, but they all use the same things, candies, candles, picture frames, wine glasses, etc. Why not go for the truly unique?

How about a wooden folding plaque, with a picture of your wedding invitation laser etched on the outside, and the written text lasered on the inside along with a place to add a wedding picture? I recently had some made up for a friend as a wedding gift, and she loved them. She also wished that she could have had some made up as wedding favors for her guests!
